Come learn to piece a quilt and have fun!

Churn Dash Quilt Camp For Adults!
   Quilt Size: 44" x 44”
  Mondays
September 13, 20 and 27
6:30-9:30
                            $50.00 + $8.00 Pattern Fee

Bring your sewing machine over to my place and learn to piece!.  You will learn accurate rotary cutting skills, accurate ¼ inch piecing, half square triangles, pressing, simple nine patch construction, setting a quilt on point and adding borders all in this one class.  In this class we make the TOP ONLY (this means you will not leave the class with a quilted and finished quilt.  You can send it out to be quilted or quilt it yourself at a later date).   The model is done in a simple two colored scheme of red and white, but you can make a delicious fall colored quilt, or a baby quilt or that special Christmas quilt you have been wanting to make.  Contact me well before class if you have questions about fabric choices (flannel is okay too).  I usually don’t prewash my fabrics, but that is a personal preference on your part.  You can if you want to, and if you do, please press all fabrics neatly before class.  You will need a rotary cutter, mat and ruler, which can be a large investment.  Usually quilt shops will sell all three tools in a bundle at a discounted rate to get you started.  We have three local quilt shops:  Morning Star in Paradise, Honey Run Quilters in Chico and The Rabbit Hole in Chico.  JoAnn’s also sells supplies.  I recommend only, Omnigrid rulers, and Olfa Rotary Cutters and mats (or Omnimat).  These tools can be ordered through Amazon and I have a link to items I recommend right here on my page, to the left.  Click the link and it will take you right to Amazon.

I recommend buying fabric only from a quilt shop as the quality if FAR SUPERIOR than a chain fabric storeGreat quality tools/products yield great quality results! The pattern fee buys you one package of Variety ½ Square Triangle Paper and leaves you with several sizes for you to go home with and make more quilts.  I will have it ready for you at class.  I’ll supply chocolate for us to munch on.
